Any CSD athlete, coach, Athletic Director, team, or Community member that contributed to the CSD athletic program is eligible to be nominated.

Cambridge-South Dorchester Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Process and Criteria Selection Process: All former CSDHS student-athletes, coaches, athletic directors, community athletic supporters, and administrators are eligible for selection into the CSD Athletic Hall of Fame. Selection criteria for each group is listed below:
Eligibility for Student-Athletes:
1. Superior accomplishments as a student-athlete at CSDHS (All-CONFERENCE, All-State, etc.) is considered most important.
2. Graduation from CSDHS at least five years prior to their nomination.
3. Continuing excellence at the collegiate, national, amateur, or professional levels could also be considered but not over what they did while at CSDHS.
4. The student-athlete will have exemplified characteristics of integrity and sportsmanship, as well as citizenship before and after graduation.

1. Coaches and athletic directors are eligible upon retirement or the end of their tenure at CSDHS.
2. Significant contributions made to the overall athletic program including longevity, overall record, and championships.

1. Significant contributions to the CSDHS Athletic Department. This may involve general support or specific support for one or more sports.

Eligibility for Teams
1. All teams that have won Bayside Conference, regional and/or state titles are recognized in the main gym via banners. However, the selection committee may occasionally choose to honor a specific team for their collective accomplishments. Individuals may nominate any team for this honor as long as the team was a school sponsored varsity sport. Criteria for selection includes: the accomplishments of the team, championships won and impact on the larger community.
2. Teams become eligible after five years.

Candidates may be nominated at any time during the year. A nomination form can be obtained from the athletic department office. In order for a candidate to be nominated, the entire form must be completely filled out. The process works as follows:
1. The deadline every year for nomination is May 1st.

2. The selection committee meets every year sometime in late May or early June. All candidates are discussed and voted on.
3. The nominator and the inductee will each receive letters in June providing information about the induction ceremonies.
4. A candidate that is not selected will be kept on file.
5. All candidates for induction who are kept active will be automatically reviewed and voted on the following year.
6. All candidates rejected will not be considered in following years.
7. All nominators of candidates will receive letters in June informing them of the status of the individual they nominated.

Pioneer Award
The Pioneer Award recognizes either an Athlete, Coach or Team from each one of the former high schools (South Dorchester High Spartans, Mace’s Lane High Tigers, Cambridge High Raiders) that became Cambridge-South Dorchester on a Pioneer Plague included in the Cambridge-South Dorchester Hall of Fame. All former state champion’s teams and individuals are automatically nominated but the committee will still need nominee’s from the public for athletes, coaches, administrators, or community members. Nominations stay on file and will be reviewed yearly for induction. Nominee’s will be listed on the Cambridge-South Dorchester Hall of Fame website for public review at all times.
